About This Tea
Marvel is our everyday loose leaf green tea: whole leaf, open style, from high elevation Indian estates where cooler temperatures slow the growth of the plant and concentrate flavour in the leaf. It is clean, crisp and genuinely refreshing, with a light grassy first sip, a smooth slightly sweet middle and a clean finish with no bitterness.
Marvel is Brew Your Sip's everyday green tea, designed for people who want a whole leaf, low caffeine tea they can drink throughout the day without fatigue or bitterness. It is free from artificial flavours, fillers and preservatives. Just whole leaf green tea, nothing added.
Green tea is one of the most studied drinks there is. It contains EGCG catechins and L-theanine, an amino acid associated with calm focus, and at roughly 25 to 35mg of caffeine a cup it gives a gentler lift than coffee. We are not going to promise you health outcomes from a cup of tea, but it is a pleasant zero calorie thing to drink several times a day.
Marvel Green Tea is excellent hot, and outstanding iced. Brew double strength, pour over ice, and add lemon for a summer drink with nothing added to it.
How to Brew: Add 1 tsp (3g) to 200ml water at 80°C. Steep 2 to 3 minutes. Can be re-brewed 2 to 3 times. For iced tea, brew double strength and pour over ice.

- Is Marvel Green Tea bitter?
- No, when brewed correctly at 80°C for 2 to 3 minutes. Bitterness in green tea comes from overbrewing or using boiling water, which destroys the amino acids that balance the tannins.
- How is Marvel different from Pearl Green Tea?
- Marvel is an open-leaf whole-leaf green tea, ideal for everyday brewing. Pearl is hand-rolled into pearls for a more ceremonial, multi-infusion experience. Both are premium whole-leaf; Marvel is more accessible for daily use.
- Is green tea good for weight loss?
- Green tea contains EGCG catechins, which are the subject of a lot of research into metabolism. We would rather not make a weight loss claim: drink it because it tastes good and it is a zero calorie drink.
- How many cups per day is ideal?
- 2 to 3 cups per day is a common recommendation, which keeps caffeine intake modest (Marvel has approx. 25 to 35mg per cup).
- Can I drink Marvel Green Tea on an empty stomach?
- Some people find green tea on an empty stomach causes mild nausea due to the tannin content. If sensitive, have it 30 minutes after a light meal.
