Loose Leaf White Tea with Saffron | Kashmiri Saffron White Tea
About This Tea
Loose leaf white tea with saffron is the rarest thing we sell. Hand picked white tea buds, the least processed leaf of the tea plant, are paired with real saffron threads from Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. The cup is a soft gold, the aroma floral and honeyed, and the finish warm and long.
White tea is made from the youngest buds and leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, withered gently and dried with minimal processing. That minimal handling retains a high level of polyphenols and amino acids in the leaf. Saffron carries its own compounds, crocin and safranal, and has a long history in Ayurvedic use. We will leave the health claims there and let the tea speak for itself.
This is a tea for evenings, for mindful moments, for gifting. Brew it at a lower temperature to protect the delicate leaf compounds, and serve without milk to let the saffron threads work their golden magic.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Why is white tea so lightly processed?
- White tea is only withered and dried, with no rolling and no oxidation step, so more of the leaf's original chemistry survives into the cup than in a green or black tea. It is also why it tastes so much softer.
- What does saffron add to the tea?
- Saffron contains crocin and safranal, which are the compounds behind its colour and aroma and the subject of ongoing research. In the cup, what they mostly do is make it taste extraordinary.
- Should I add milk to Saffron White Tea?
- No. Milk completely masks the delicate floral-saffron notes. Drink it black, or with a very small amount of honey to enhance the floral quality.
- Why is the price higher than other teas?
- White tea is the least processed and most selectively picked tea category there is. Saffron is the world's most expensive spice by weight. The combination is what you are paying for.
- Can I re-brew the leaves?
- Yes, white tea leaves can be re-brewed 2 to 3 times. Later infusions are milder and increasingly sweet.
White Tea — Nature's Purest Brew
Only withering and drying. No rolling, no oxidation. The most natural form of tea, closest to the living leaf.
Because it is least processed, white tea retains the highest concentration of polyphenols of any tea type.
The most delicate of teas. Use cooler water and longer steeps (4–5 min) to coax its subtle sweetness.
White tea is harvested only in the early spring when young buds are still covered in fine white hairs.
